Plug-in switches are not wireless switches, they send their signals through the house wiring and must be plugged into an outlet to access the house wiring.

Note: The UM506 remote receiver is no longer available. Instead we recommend using a switched outlet type control. For details visit the switched outlet page.

 

How to do it – Plug-in Controllers

What you need: 
Chilipepper Pump, X10 UM506 receiver Plug in controller
Chilipepper Hot Water Demand System Pump for use with storage and tankless water heaters.

MC460 X10 Remote Switch Transmitter for Water Heater Pumps

Connect the control wires from the Chilipepper to the two screw terminals on a UM506 receiver, and plug the receiver into a 110 volt outlet.

Set the UM506 settings to “momentary” and “relay only”.  Set the house code and unit code to match your controller settings.

Plug in your controller.  To start the Chilipepper press the button with the unit code you used for setting the UM506 and controller.

Chilipepper Pump,

Connect the control wires from the Chilipepper to the two screw terminals on a UM506 receiver, and plug the receiver into a 110 volt outlet.

Set the UM506 settings to “momentary” and “relay only”.  Set the house code and unit code to match your controller settings.

Plug the TM751 into any outlet and set the house code and unit code to match the settings on the UM506.

To start the Chilipepper press the appropriate button on your particular choice for a wireless remote.

This MC10A X10 Mini-Controller gives you remote control from any location where there is a wall socket and its small form-factor means that its perfect for nightstands, telephone tables, entryway tables, or any place were space is limited.

Although the Mini-Controller has 8 buttons you will only use one to control your Chilipepper.

The MC10A features ‘All On’, ‘All Off’ and dimming switches for convenient X10 lighting control and can also be used to control X10 lamp and appliance modules, wall outlets and cameras. (The Mini-Controller2 does not require a transmitter). There’s even a built-in LED X10 signal indicator so you’ll know instantly if your commands are being carried out.

You can also use the Mini-Controller to send signals to intelligent 2-way controllers to activate preprogrammed events (macros). It’s the ideal controller for bedside tables, kitchen, workshop, garage, or home office!

Another Compact Controller (Plug-in)

The PHC01 (MC460) is another plug-in controller.  The picture does not show it, but the controller comes with a six foot cord. You can also use the Mini-Controller to send signals to all of the X10 modules etc.

It’s the ideal controller for bedside tables, kitchen, baths and laundry room.

This remote is great for on the nightstand next to the alarm clock!  The SlimFire Keychain Remote will turn on your hot water system, and one other appliance and allows you to brighten and dim lights connected to any X10 Lamp Module or Wall Switch Module.

This tiny Keychain Remote control has 4 buttons that controls X10 addresses 1 and 2 or 5 and 6 on any of the 16 house codes. The bottom 2 buttons control the dim and bright of the last unit turned on.

This device requires an RF receiver such as a TM751 to transmit X10 signals wirelessly to other X10 control modules.
